Kobe Bryant Gets Back-to-Back Triple Double in Odd Way; Lakers Win Over Pistons

Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant recorded his second consecutive triple double in odd way as he tallied 12 points, 13 assists along with 10 turnovers to help his team beat the Detroit Pistons 106-96 for their second back-to-back win of the season at the Palace of Auburn Hill in Detroit, Michigan.

Bryant, who is fresh from dropping 31 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds in a 129-122 overtime win over Eastern Conference beast Toronto Raptors last Sunday, did not have an explosive scoring night as he just made four out of his 11 field goal attempts. However, he still impacted the game in a big way by serving as the team's main facilitator.

Bryant's 13 assists marked his highest output in that statistical department in the past two years. On the other hand, the 10 turnovers were also the highest during that span.

Nevertheless, Bryant has become more team-oriented the past couple of games. According to sources close to situation, Lakers head coach Byron Scott reached out to Bryant about becoming the team's chief facilitator by making his teammates more involved.

And so far, the pass-first Bryant experiment really paid off for the Lakers, as center Jordan Hill continued to put up big numbers with 22 points and 13 rebounds while Nick Young contributed 19 points off the bench.

Starting point guard Jeremy Lin recorded 11 points and 5 assists in 30 minutes of play in the contest. After a rough start, the Lin-Bryant backcourt tandem is starting to show its full potential, with the former Harvard standout becoming more of an off-guard target for Bryant.

On the other hand, the Pistons dropped another ball game after another lethargic effort in the second half. Josh Smith, who has been at the center of trade rumors the past few weeks, recorded 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists to lead way for his team, who lost their ninth straight game and fell to 3-15.
