Lakers Rumors: Kobe Bryant Frustrated With Jeremy Lin’s Inability To Run Offense

The Los Angeles Lakers are dealing with one of the worst starts in franchise's history as the purple-and-gold dropped their second straight game against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday at US Airways Arena. Unfortunately, Jeremy Lin's lackluster play isn't helping at all.

Lin, who was expected to back up Kobe Bryant in scoring following injuries to Nick Young, Steve Nash and recently rookie Julius Randle, is having trouble shooting the ball the past two games.

The 26-year old guard shot 1-for-5 from the field in a 108-90 loss to the Houston Rockets in Tuesday's season-opener and then went 2-for-5 in another blowout loss, 119-99, to the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.

Lin scored a combined 13 points in his first two games in Lakers uniform. However, his struggle to orchestrate offensive sets that has apparently frustrated star shooting guard Kobe Bryant.

"You got to run the offense," Kobe told Lin about his ball handling and playmaking duties via Serena Winters of Lakers Nation. "I'm telling you to run the offense and you got to do it."

Bryant, who was the Lakers' leading scorer in both games, is apparently willing to give Lin all the freedom in the world to control the ball and create scoring opportunities for the team.

Lin's shooting woes has not only disappointed Lakers fans but his fantasy basketball owners, who all have high expectation of a breakout season for the Asian-American standout because of lack of competition at the point guard spot.

"Jeremy Lin had another quiet game against the Suns on Wednesday with six points, two rebounds, one assist and two turnovers in 21 minutes. All these blowouts have really hurt Lin and he's starting awfully slow," according to Roto World.

"The Suns guards were also remarkably efficient against him, but it's not like Ronnie Price is going to unseat Lin. The Lakers need so much help that it's worth sticking it out for a couple more games to see if Lin can turn it around."

Lin and the Lakers will have an off-day on Thursday but will plunge back to action against intra-city rival Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.
