NFL Rumors Central: Darrelle Revis on Eagles’ Radar: Seahawks To Replace Percy Harvin With Rugby Player

NFL trade deadline is just around the corner and there has been a ton of trade rumors floating around, no one bigger than a potential trade between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots for cornerback Darrelle Revis.

Another scenario to watch for is a possible debut of a rugby player in the NFL, and the Seattle Seahawks are apparently buying it especially after the trade that sent wide receiver and return specialist Percy Harvin to the New York Jets.

Revis Island to Eagles: The Philadelphia Eagles have become a major force in the NFC in only the second season of head coach Chip Kelly. At 5-1, the Eagles are considered by many NFL analysts as legitimate Super Bowl contender.

However, SB NFL writer Mike Kaye believed the Eagles should need a top-notch cornerback to shut down some of the best wideouts in the business. After all, Philadelphia still needs to bolster their defense as they are allowing an average of 256.5 yards per game - which 23rd overall.

Revis, who has one-year remaining in his contract, could be a possible trade chip if the Patriots feel they aren't going anywhere with their current lineup. Moreover, Revis recently drew the ire of Bill Belichick for coming late in practice, making his tenure in Foxborough a little bit shaky.

"While this would be the long shot of long shots, Revis is on a one-year deal and recently ruffled some feathers by showing up late to a meeting," the SB Nation Eagles beat writer stated.

Let's Go Rugbbbbby!: With Harvin out of the picture, the defending Super Bowl champ Seattle Seahawks are reportedly considering in giving Jarryd Hayne, the best rugby player down in under, a chance to fulfill his dream at the National Football League.

Head coach Pete Carroll admitted that the Seahawks have been scouting Hayne for quite some time, and went on to describe Hayne as an incredible athlete and fierce competitor on the field.

"Our scout Down Under has been on this for some time now," Carroll said in an interview via Rant sports. "But he's an incredible athlete and a great competitor, so we'll see where it goes. I'm afraid to mention anything because I'm not sure of the rights things and contract issues down there. We'll leave that up to [Seahawks GM] John [Schneider] to figure out."
