Serena Williams Already Targeting 19th Grand Slam After 'Super-Crazy' Year

Serena Williams' recent loss to Romania's Simona Halep in the round-robin stage of the WTA Finals only proved that the world's no.1 female player is having the craziest year of her tennis career.

The 33-year old Williams tasted the worst loss since 1998 at the hands of Halep, who pulled off a 6-0, 6-2 winner against the most dominant tennis player in this era. The loss marked Serena's most embarrassing loss since she was 16-years old, when she couldn't win more than two games against Joannette Kruger 6-1, 6-1 in Oklahoma City.

"Embarrassing describes the way I played today," Williams told reporters after the match via BBC. My forehand was off today again. I guess it went on an early vacation," added Williams, who said she had served better "in the 10 and under division in juniors."

Halep, the world's no.4 ranked tennis player, believed she played the best tennis of her career just in time against one of the finest players, if not the best in the history of women's tennis.

"It was my best match of my life. I played unbelievable shots. It means a lot this match," Halep said following his two-set dominance over Serena.

In an interview on CNN right after bagging her 18th Grand Slam title at the 2014 US Open Championship, Williams admitted that she's having the craziest up-and-down year in her career.

"Definitely Super-crazy," Williams said. "Definitely the highest in terms of greatness, I mean getting 18 at the Open. I think it was fitting actually. And I think the lowest broke me out and I think it does really helped out."

Targeting the 19th Slam: Williams said she's already targeting the 19th major title of her career following her victory over Caroline Wozniacki in the final of the US Open championship. Serena stressed tying the record set by tennis greats Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova is such a great feeling, but she seems ready for the next challenge.

Williams will try to keep her WTA championship bid alive when he plays Eugenie Bouchard of Canada on Friday.
