Bill Cosby's rape charges are not the best topic to talk about in comedic performances. But comedian Hannibal Buress begged to differ.
Buress, who is known for his appearances on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,' '30 Rock,' 'Louie' and 'Broad City,' recently brought up the notorious Bill Cosby rape charges during his set at the Trocadero club in Cobsy's hometown Philadelphia, according to CBS Local.
"It's even worse because Bill Cosby has the fuckin' smuggest old black man persona that I hate," Buress said of the legendary '90s comedian.
Buress then when on to poke fun at Bill Cosby's rape charges saying, "He gets on TV, 'Pull your pants up, black people, I was on TV in the '80s! I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom!' Yeah, but you rape women, Bill Cosby, so turn the crazy down a couple notches."
As though it wasn't enough, Buress later on continued to slam the 77-year-old comedian by comparing the search results of Bill Cosby's rape allegations on Google to the entries about him on the Internet.
"I guess I want to just at least make it weird for you to watch 'Cosby Show' reruns. [...] I've done this bit on stage and people think I'm making it up ... when you leave here, google 'Bill Cosby rape.' That shit has more results than 'Hannibal Buress,'" he said, as per a Salon.com report.
Apparently, Hannibal's jokes went viral and once again reignited everyone's quest on the truth behind Bill Cosby's rape charges, which were brought about by consistent statements from a number of women, who were reportedly drugged and sexually assaulted by the "Cosby Show' star.
Barbara Bowman, one of the accusers of Cosby, revealed to Newsweek early this 2014 that she was raped by the comedian when she was in her late teenage years.
"I was assaulted a number of times from age 18 to 19. Cosby would warn me before out-of-town trips, 'You aren't going to fight me this time, are you?'" she was quoted saying by the publication.
"Once in Reno, Nevada, he flew me out for a celebrity ski classic. He got me in a hotel room and fed me a lot of alcohol. He pinned me down in his suite on the couch, and he had me masturbate him. He really intimidated me, and I panicked," she recounted.
Meanwhile, this Tuesday, Bruess appeared on "The Howard Stern Show" to talk about the backlash he got for bringing up once again the issue on Bill Cosby's rape charges.
"It was unexpected," he said of the commotion his performance received. "It wasn't my intention to make it part of a big discussion. It was just something I was doing at that venue, right there."
Burgess, who stars in "Broad City" confessed that he only came up with the set after reading some info on the sexual assault charges pressed against Cosby, who has since never responded to the wrongdoing, Huffington Post has learned.
"It's just information that's out there," Buress quipped. "I said it and I gotta stand on it, but it is an interesting situation."
