NBA Rumors 2014 - Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving is reportedly set to return to the basketball court this Friday after missing three games last time when he sprained his right ankle.
According to The Epoch Times, the 23-year-old basketball player's right ankle was accidentally stepped on by Anderson Varejao during a practice game last week, and it's very unfortunate because he wasn't able to play in Brazil when his team faced the Miami Heat due to his injury.
As per a statement from the Cavaliers coach David Blatt, Irving is playing this Friday in an exhibition against Dallas.
"[Irving] is raring to go, and that's good" he said of the player.
Blatt is reportedly not worried of Irving but is instead very eager to have him playing in the court with LeBron James and Kevin Love in advance of the Oct. 30 season opener.
However, according to some NBA Rumors 2014, Blatt does not want Love to play in the game against the Mavericks since he has already played in all four preseason games.
Love is also having a hard time with his stiff neck, which he got after a collision in Wednesday night's game.
Meanwhile, on other NBA Rumors 2014, it appears that Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant will missing the first six to eight weeks of this season after her fractured a bone in his right foot.
NBA's leading scorer of this decade and the reigning MVP reportedly complained of his aching foot following a practice session last Saturday.
Thunder general manager Sam Presti said that after subjecting him to a couple of tests, it was found out that Durant has a "Jones fracture," as well as a broken bone at the base of his small toe.
Presti also confirmed that this type of injury will require the player to skip six to eight weeks.
Since Durant is expected to have a six-week absence, it's very likely that he'll be back in court in December, with about 65 games remaining.
"We're really fortunate to be catching it when we're catching it," Presti said. "Very fortunate that Kevin notified us yesterday, and we're catching it kind of on the front end, before this became a little bit more of an acute issue."
