Lakers Rumors: Jeremy Lin NBA 2K15 Rating Revealed

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Jeremy Lin heads into next season with lots of potential to become a breakout star. However, NBA 2K team still viewed the 26-year old Lin as an average player at its best, giving him a below 80 rating for the upcoming NBA 2k15.

The ratings of players for NBA 2K15 won't be officially released until late October, but there are several sites who are already leaking information, particularly the standing of several NBA ballers.

SB Nation writer Drew Garrison revealed in its latest article the ratings of every Los Angeles Lakers player from its superstar Kobe Bryant to third-stringer bigman Robert Sacre.

As expected, Bryant is the highest rated player in purple-and-gold jersey, garnering a rating of 89 - which is four points lower than his 93 rating for NBA 2k14. Sacre, meanwhile, got the lowest rating of 67. However, the surprising part in this leaked information is no one other than Kobe reached at least 80.

Two-time All-Star Carlos Boozer is rated 78 while two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash got a 76 rating - perhaps the worst rating he received since NBA 2k Sports started showing players' ratings.

Does Jeremy Lin deserve 77 rating?

Lin averaged 12 points and 4 dimes per game in a backup role with the Houston Rockets last season. Despite getting limited minutes from head coach Kevin McHale, the Asian American baller managed to gain improvement across three shooting categories: field goal shooting (45 percent), three-point shooting (36 percent) and free-throw shooting (82 percent). In short, Lin has become a much more efficient player last season.

77 may not be a justifiable rating for Lin because he's going to have more opportunity to pad up his stats and be a solid contributor for his team this season. The point guard situation the Lakers present is simply favorable to Lin, who can get more minutes than Nash throughout the team's 82-game campaign. Should NBA take this criterion into consideration, Lin could have been rated at least 80 rather than 77.
