Week 3 of NCAA Football Season will present a stern test for BCS championship aspirant South Carolina as they face a must-win situation against no.6 seed Georgia, while Oklahoma looks to stay undefeated against Tennessee.
Saturday's Double Header Pick
South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Georgia Bulldogs
South Carolina absorbed a big blow in their national championship bid after losing to Texas A&M on week no.1. The Gamecocks entered the season as the 9th ranked team in the nation, but the Aggies led by Kenny Hill's superb debut (511 yards with three TDs) shattered their defense into pieces to book a 52-28 victory before South Carolina fans at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Although they managed to level their season record at 1-1 last Saturday, a 33-23 win over an inferior East Corolina isn't enough for pundits to give them a high spot in the current ranking.
On the other hand, the Bulldogs sent a message right from their debut as they defeated 16th-ranked Clemson 45-21 at home. Running back Todd Gurley was the star of the show, covering 198 yards on 15 attempts with three touchdowns. He also returned a kickoff 100 yards to set the program's newest all-purpose yards record of 293 yards.
Where to Watch: CBS Sports will broadcast the game at 3:30 p.m EST while live stream service is available on the cable network's website at CBS SPorts and ESPN Watch Live. Play-by-Play, Box Scores, and Highlights are available on ESPN NCAA Football.
Oklahoma vs. Tennessee
Oklahoma is living up to its lofty status as the no.4 ranked team in the nation. In their last two games, the Sooners were nothing but dominant against inferior opponents, blowing away Louisiana Tech (48-16) and Tulsa 52-7).
Quarterback Trevor Knight covered 552 yards with three TDs and one interception so far while running backs Keith Ford and Alex Ross already scored 4 and 3 TDs, respectively.
Despite their early success, experts are still not convince Bob Stoops' men are for real until tested by an elite program. And for Sooners, there's no better way to open everybody's eyes than against the Volunteers, who also boast a 2-0 record.
Where to Watch: ABC will broadcast the game at 8:00 p.m. The match can also be followed via live stream feed on ESPN 3 and ABC Live Stream. Play-by-Play and other stats are available on NCAA Football ESPN.
