Elisabeth Hasselbeck Shocked about Recent “The View” Cast Shake-Up; Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy Out of the Picture

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is no neophyte when it comes to sudden changes at top-rated talk show "The View". However, she was absolutely stunned when she found out that her hosts Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy were going to leave the show. Hasselbeck only found out about this on Thursday, the 26th of June.

Hasselbeck left the show in 2013, and she admitted that she did not see those departures coming. She shared on "Fox & Friends" on Friday, "I was shocked in some ways." Her co-host Steve Doocy asked her if she thinks Shepherd herself was shocked of this announcement. Hasselbeck was quick to respond with, "I'm sure. Even if you think that might happen one day, I'm sure it would come across to be a shock."

Hasselbeck and Shepherd have not spoken in a long time. However, she is looking forward to a reunion. She said, "I have not spoken to her in person yet. Set to happen, though."

The two have remained very close friends despite not seeing each other for a long time now. The 37-year-old Hasselbeck has even featured the 47-year-old Shepherd on the debut episode of "Fox & Friends" in September of last year. During the guesting, Shepherd showcased numerous photographs that reflect the close friendship that they have with one another.

Shepherd said, "We're, like, attached at the hip. We're like the chocolate and vanilla. Oh, I'm gonna be here all the time." Shepherd also noted that Hasselbeck was even one of her VIP guests during her wedding party.

Now that Shepherd is officially off "The View", she can be a regular guest on her good pal's show. She told Deadline during an exclusive interview, "It's been seven wonderful years on 'The View', and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on."
