"Disney On Ice: Frozen" can only be good news for fans of the most successful animated film ever. According to Daily Mail, "Disney On Ice: Frozen" will be performed as part of a new live touring show starting in September in the U.S.
The movie "Frozen" was released in theatres last year of November, but it looks like the enthusiasm for the film hasn't melted. The live show "Disney On Ice: Frozen" has just been announced by the company, reports Daily Mail. "Frozen will be performed nowhere else other but on ice.
The touring show for "Disney On Ice: Frozen" will be based on the film which became the sixth biggest box office hit in the history of cinema, with approximately $1.3bn in worldwide box office sales. The action adventure animation tells the story of Princess Anna teaming up with Sven the reindeer and Olaf the snowman to find her sister, Princess Elsa. Elsa was gifted with ice powers which have unintentionally trapped their kingdom in eternal winter.
According to The Guardian, the arena tour for "Disney On Ice: Frozen" will travel throughout the U.S. in 2014 and 2015. It will begin at the home of Disney in Orlando.
The show "Disney On Ice: Frozen" is reportedly produced by Feld Entertaiment. This will be the first time the characters of sisters Anna and Elsa will appear in a live production. The plot for the show will closely resemble and follow the magical story showcased in the film.
The show "Disney On Ice: Frozen", as with the film, won't be complete without special effects. According to Daily Mail, the show's producers will be simulating a blizzard created by 20 snow machines and will show a stage inspired by a six-sided snowflake and towering video projection panels that will recreate the movie's jagged North Mountains. The live performances will also be packed with the movie's greatest hits, including Let It Go.
The company said "Disney On Ice: Frozen" will reportedly be hosted by Mickey and Minnie Mouse. There will also be guest appearances by other Disney princesses and characters from Toy Story, Finding Nemo and The Lion King. The tour for "Disney On Ice: Frozen" will be having six different versions around the US from 2014 to 2015. Nine shows will be shown overseas.
The Frozen tour will be opening in Orlando and will travel to cities including Tampa, Atlanta, Baltimore and Newark, New Jersey. It will have several performances in New York at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in November.
The huge success with "Frozen" prompted huge demand for toys and costumes, such as Elsa's shimmering blue dress and Anna's caped ensemble. In fact, according to reports, demand have become so high that Disney started selling out as stock ran low and even had to impose quotas on some of the merchandise to create an 'equitable way' to buy the most popular stuffed animals and dolls. According to Disney CEO Bob Iger, a live Broadway musical version is currently being produced, along with concepts for theme park rides.
"Disney On Ice: Frozen" will no doubt be having sold out tickets not just in the U.S., but with other shows around the world.
