Dumped dog new home search came soon after the puppy was abandoned on the Las Vegas streets. The incident was reportedly caught on video, and now the dumped dog new home search came after she wandered straight to the side gate of an avid dog lover.
According to NBC News, the dumped dog new home search came after a woman who happens to have a surveillance camera affixed to her house caught and taped an SUV driver dumping the dog and driving away.
The dog is named Graci, a mixed-breed lab. She was seen following the SUV for several feet and appearing confused, reports KTLA.
Toni Luisi discovered the puppy at her gate when she let her own two dogs out of the house. When Luisi was about to walk her two dogs at about 5:30 a.m. on May 4, that's when she found Graci. Luisi said on the dumped dog new home search, "Graci seemed like she was saying, 'Please, give me another chance!' I just can't believe somebody could do that."
Because Luisi already had a pair of pooches, she launched the e-mail GraciThePuppy@yahoo.com in order to get the dumped dog new home search. According to Fox 8, public outrage came after Graci was dumped on a street in Las Vegas. The incident reportedly caused an email storm to Luisi's email box.
Before the dumped dog new home search, a barrage of ticked dog aficionados "expressed their anger" while making their own case for adoption, Luisi told NBC News. Many of the emailers reportedly made promises of sprawling yards and kids or other dogs to romp with Graci.
Luisi said, "We brought her immediately to the vet to see if she was chipped (with an embedded identification marker)." Graci was considered to be a healthy 38 pounds. She is estimated to be about 6 months old. Though the dog had no chip and no collar before the dumped dog new home search, Luisi nicknamed the dog Graci as a short version of "for the grace of God."
Luisi reportedly checked her home-surveillance footage and realized that even if Graci had been chipped, her previous owners evidently didn't want her. NBC News reports that the video showed an SUV slowly stopping in front of Luisi's house. Graci emerged from the car and the SUV exits. The SUV's license plate cannot be seen in the footage.
Luisi said, "With all of the people emailing, it's not going to be easy to choose a new home for her. But one of the emails was from a woman who said her son is a cancer survivor and he would love Graci as his pet. It brought tears to my eyes. I'm going to call her. That got my heart."
In Las Vegas, dog abandonment is a fineable and misdemeanor crime. Luisi said, "After we find her a home, I hope we can find these people. I want them to get retribution and to pay the fine."
Dumped dog new home search might be a considered a blessing for Graci herself as she is spared from possible abusive owners who didn't want her in the first place.
