Video leaker fired for releasing surveillance video of Solange attacking Jay-Z in an elevator at the Standard Hotel. According to the Associated Press, an employee of the Standard Hotel has been caught and fired for leaking perhaps the most elevator video of all time.
A video of the 27-year-old star attacking her brother-in-law in an elevator after a Met Gala party was released by TMZ on Tuesday.
The video leaker fired happened just 3 days after the video broke out and became viral. According to reports, the Standard Hotel staff allegedly received $250,000 from the gossip site in exchange for the footage.
Officials told Page Six, "The Standard has identified the individual responsible for breaching the security policies of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video released by TMZ. The Standard has already terminated the individual and will now be pursuing all available civil and criminal remedies. The Standard will next be turning over all available information to the criminal authorities."
The unnamed video leaker fired said that the altercation took place at the Standard Hotel in New York City. The video leaker fired was reportedly let go for "breaching the security policies of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video."
Despite the video having leaked a couple of days ago already, up to now, not much has still been said by any representative of any of the involved parties. According to Spin, Jay Z and Beyoncé, both of whom were in the elevator during the Solange attack, haven't commented regarding the attack or the video leaker fired.
However, the couple was able to attend a Brooklyn Nets playoff game and they were reportedly spotted smiling, laughing, and talking with Miami Heat star LeBron James from their front row seats. Meanwhile, Solange, who was the focal point of the video and probably a big part of why the video leaker fired, has deleted a few pictures of Beyoncé from her Instagram account. Still, according to other reports, several photos of Beyonce can still be seen on the account.
The Standard Hotel said that it will turn over "all available information to criminal authorities." This may mean that the video leaker fired could be facing a lawsuit.
Video leaker fired days after the Solange attack occured, and yet the reason for the attack has still been undetermined. According to some reports, Jay Z became angry at Solange after she used his name to get her friends into a party without his permission. Meanwhile, HollywoodLife.com said that the Beyonce's sister has held a grudge against the Jay for quite a while now. She allegedly felt let down by his career advice since she has been struggling to top charts with her two albums while Jay Z and her sister continue to be famous in the music industry. A source told the website, "Solange has shown anger and resentment to Jay Z for a long time. Jay has a knack for finding and fostering talent - Rihanna, Calvin Harris, J. Cole, etc. Solange has wanted to come out of her sister's shadow for forever and become her own star, and is always looking at B and Jay for advice. But she has this very odd way of handling his feedback. He will tell her, honestly, that 'this song is a hit' or 'this won't connect with people,' and she doubles back, claiming that she's an indie artist and can't make decisions based on trends. It doesn't make much sense. He always says that she shouldn't ask his opinion if she doesn't care."
