Zodiac Killer found may be true as a Louisiana man claimed that his biological father was the notorious murderer. The possibility of the zodiac killer found has been detailed in a new book. In it, a Louisiana man says he is the son of the infamous Zodiac Killer of northern California, says publisher HarperCollins on Tuesday.
The serial killer found may be possible with his alleged son's claims. According to CNN, the Zodiac Killer is still reportedly sought by authorities. Believed to have killed five people in 1968-69, he gained notoriety by writing a couple of letters to police which boasted of his slayings. There were even swatches of bloody clothing to prove his claims. Reports say that he has been able to kill as many as 37 people and has never been caught for it.
Vice President Gary L. Stewart at the cleaning company Delta Tech Service in Baton Rouge recounts his decade-long hunt for his supposed biological father. He has concluded that the Zodiac Killer found, and the man -- Earl Van Best, Jr., who's is now deceased, was the Zodiac Killer, said the publisher.
According to police in northern California on Tuesday, they weren't aware of the book or its claims that the Zodiac Killer found.
San Francisco police spokesman Albie Esparza told CNN, "It's an open and active case, so we don't comment. But (it's) certainly something our homicide investigators will take a look at."
Capt. Steve Blower of the Napa County Sheriff's Office added: "We have talked to many people over the years. We've gotten reports over the years from people who don't pan out. This case is still open, and we still do accept tips or leads that may have bearing on the case."
According to CNN, Bryan Hartnell, one of the only two survivors of the Zodiac Killer, was just a college kid more than 40 years ago at Pacific Union College, just north of San Francisco, when he encountered the Zodiac Killer found now.
His then-girlfriend, Cecilia Shephard, was attacked while picnicking. They recalled that their attacker was a man in an eerie costume: with a black hood and shirt with a white symbol on the front.
On Tuesday, Hartnell has spoken regarding his latest claim in the unsolved case and the Zodiac Killer found theory. Hartnell wrote to CNN in an email, "I somewhat follow the news, but there has been no time in the last 40+ years when someone was not (stirring) the pot."
HarperCollins publicist Tina Andreadis told New York Magazine of their speculations on Zodiac Killer found. "Stewart's father had a criminal record in San Francisco ('forgeries, bad checks'), and there was a strong resemblance between his father's mug shot and the police sketch." The magazine added, "If you look at Gary's photo next to the sketch of the Zodiac (killer) next to his father's mug shot, you can see that there is very clearly more than just a passing resemblance," Andreadis told the magazine. "They look alike."
Zodiac Killer found may be too good to be true as until now he has still never been caught. According to CNN, the unsolved case has inspired the 2007 film "Zodiac.
