Take a Cruise: Caribbean vs. Mediterranean

All my life, I have dreamed about going on a cruise. My dilemma is choosing a destination. If you are having the same problem as me, maybe these tips can help you chose!

The Caribbean

The Caribbean is known for its year-round warm sun, bright blue sea, white sandy beaches, friendly natives and effervescent culture.

Caribbean cruises offer an altogether different, but exciting experience. Though the summer offers great weather, its winter sun increases demand for the Caribbean with peak season falling from January through April.

Average temperatures between these months are said to be between 76-78 degrees Fahrenheit, offering a hot, but endurable vacation. The summer may be hotter by 5 degrees, but summer also brings more rain, making winter the ideal time to cruise in the Caribbean.

Western Caribbean cruises travel to Mexico, Belize, the Bahamas, Jamaica, and a private cruise Line Island. If you go to Cozumel, Mexico you can buy a tour to see Mayan ruins. Its even considered the best place to go for scuba and snorkeling.

If you decide to travel to Jamaica, the two main attractions are the Dunn's River Falls climb and River Raft Float Trip, which a local states is very popular to most tourists

Cruises to the Eastern Caribbean reach destinations at St Thomas, St Maarten, and possibly another island like Tortola or Puerto Rico.

For all my shopping divas - if you want to do a lot of shopping then pick a cruise with St. Thomas as one of the port stops. St. Maarten is also a beach and shopping stop.

For the most part, the Caribbean islands share many similarities. Although they share the same elements, a cruise to the Caribbean is not an experience to miss.

The Mediterranean

In my opinion, the Mediterranean might have more interesting places to explore. how can you not want to visit Venice, Florence, Rome and the Athens? With the friendly natives, the culture alone can be quite captivating.

Mediterranean cruises are incredibly popular for reasons that will take an entirely separate article to list. - But the distance between the Mediterranean and the UK plays a major role in traveling decisions.

HOWEVER, with beautiful, almost unimaginable weather throughout the summer, multi-ethnic cities and ancient ruins, Mediterranean cruises offer a little of something for everyone.

Mediterranean cruises are perfect for summer holidays. Want a family bonding vacation? - Summer time is great for families during the school holidays.

All in all, choosing either cruise will not be a regrettable decision! The Mediterranean might be more expensive, but you know what they say, "you get what you pay for!" Choose wisely!
