Fox News reports that the wife of the man who was with Paul Walker on the day of his crash sued the car manufacturer. Paul Walker's friend was driving a Porsche sports car when a car crash killed Paul Walker and his friend. The wife of the Paul Walker's friend had Porsche sued over death of Paul Walker and alleged that the auto company has designed a faulty vehicle.
According to the Associated Press, the wrongful death and negligence lawsuit was filed Monday in Los Angeles by Kristine Rodas. Rodas is the wife of Paul Walker's friend and business partner Roger Rodas. The wife which had Porsche sued over death of Paul Walker reportedly claimed that the company's 2005 Porsche Carrera GT had design flaws. Along with this, she also claimed in the lawsuit against Porsche Cars North America that a malfunctioning suspension caused the November car crash and the death of both men. The suspension allegedly forced the Porsche to twist out of control and strike three trees while driving down a Santa Clarita street.
The lawsuit states: "The Carrera GT was unsafe for its intended use by reason of defects in its manufacture, design, testing, component and constituents, so that it would not safely serve its purpose."
The car driven by Roger Rodas was a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, and this car is reportedly capable of more than 200 mph. However, his wife still had Porsche sued over death of Paul Walker and her husband and stated that the vehicle was lacking a proper crash cage and safety features in the gas tank that could have spared their lives.
Meanwhile, Time reports that authorities have already named the cause of death as unsafe speed. Still, Rodas, who had Porsche sued over death of Paul Walker, claimed that her husband was driving the Porsche at 55 mph before the accident. The speed was not an unsafe speed says law enforcement investigators.
An email message was reportedly sent to Porsche to ask for their comments. However, the request was not immediately returned.
Mark Geragos, Kristine Rodas' attorney, said that he hired the country's top experts to evaluate the wreckage and crash after Rodas had Porsche sued. He said that the results revealed an unbiased look at the accident which rebuts an official investigation that says the sports car was speeding at up to 94 mph when it crashed.
According to the Associated Press, different opinions on the crash will most likely take part in any trial over the lawsuit.
