Injured Ann Curry was lucky enough to be rescued by scouts while hiking in Harriman State Park.
The NBC journalist who was out hiking was reportedly rescued by scouts after the reporter broke her ankle. According to the report, the scouts were hiking along a trail intersection when they spotted a woman sitting on the ground. One of the guys then asked the woman whom they actually didn't know at first, if she is okay.
Ann Curry then responded that she thinks she broke her ankle and even told the guys to just keep going. However, the rescue scouts refused and suddenly made a move without even asking what to do from their leader. The boys then built a stretcher by tying a tarp to two poles that would carry the journalist, but they tested it first before putting the injured woman on it.
The trail in New York's Harriman State Park is not that easy especially if carrying a large load. However, Curry who was rescued by the scouts remains in high spirit as they make their way off the trail. It took them about 30 minutes to hike the steep terrain as they need to avoid rocks on the trail.
As the rescue scouts reached the trailhead, the journalist's husband is already there waiting. She was then taken to the hospital since her ankle is really swelling the moment they arrived. Moreover, the scouts actually had no idea at first who was the woman that they just rescued, but when they knew that she was a known journalist, the boys just couldn't believe it.
Furthermore, Curry has been very thankful after she was rescued by the scouts of Troop 368. She even wrote a letter to the boys and delivered it to them. She also thanked the troop via her tweet.
"If you break a leg on on a mountain, I hope Boy Scout Troop 368 finds you. Boy am I glad they found me." Curry posted on Twitter.
