After getting drafted by the St. Louis Rams during the NFL Draft, Michael Sam has been making headlines lately, not only because he is the first openly gay NFL player but also because of the rather emotional kiss he shared with his boyfriend after the big announcement.
Videos and photos of the 24-year-old football player kissing his boyfriend got a lot of attention online, and several media outlets remarked how emotional the kiss was for Sam, who has been under the public's scrutiny after finally coming out.
Just last Saturday night, Michael Sam and his boyfriend Vito Cammisano hot the red carpet at TAO Nightclub to celebrate the good news the player got, Justjared has learned.
After spending some time with their friend, Sam expressed his excitement to join the Rams in his tweet Monday Morning.
"I can't wait to join my new family today!!! St. Louis Bound! #showtime" the 24-year-old said.
Now, apart from the public attention Michael Sam has been receiving for his being the first openly gay NFL player, there is something or someone else about him that is sharing the limelight: his boyfriend, who was recently identified as Vito Cammisano.
According to Queerty, Vito Cammisano is a former University of Missouri swimmer. Since Michael Sam is also from the said school, the site notes that the two may have begun their secret relationship a long time ago.
Vito Cammisano, 23, publicly came out in 2011, and he was also under scrutiny for quite some time until recently when he was revealed to be the romantic partner of Michael Sam.
Just Jared reported that Michael met Vito when he was still a defensive end at the University of Missouri.
Following the huge revelation about their relationship, many have been very generous in leaving them comments on their Facebook accounts.
