Madrid Open Tennis 2014 Crowns Rafael Nadal As Winner Despite Of His Performance While Sharapova Receives Another Title [VIDEO]

Madrid Open Tennis 2014 was overruled by Rafael Nadal as he won his fourth Madrid Open title on Sunday.

Rafael Nadal reined the 2014 tournament after Kei Nishikori was forced to withdraw due to a back injury. The four time winner was playing in his 90th final and has won a 27th crown at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 level. Furthermore, Nadal's performance this week was said to be showing signs of improvement.

As Nadal won his fourth title in the Madrid Open Tennis 2014, many are actually trying to question his victory. Many are saying that if Nishikori wasn't injured during the match, Nadal won't be able to win the title. Nishikori took the lead with his powerful groundstrokes as the match started.

Nadal's team also admitted that they had a lot of luck to win the match. Toni Nadal, Rafael's uncle at the same time his coach has said that they didn't deserve the victory they achieved since they realized that Nishikori has played better than them the whole time. "We don't deserve the victory, (Nishikori) deserves it, he played better than us the whole time," Toni Nadal told the Antenna 3 TV. He also added that their opponent definitely played at a great level.

It was during the third set of their match in the Madrid Open tennis 2014 that the Japanese player struggled a lot. According to him, he is hurt a lot to continue the fight. He actually needed a timeout for a medical treatment for his sore lower back.

"I'm very sorry for what happened today for everybody... Unfortunately I was hurting today and I was too hurt to fight." The Japanese player admitted about his condition.

Furthermore, Nadal's victory in the Madrid Open Tennis 2014 will guarantee him his way towards the Roland Garros also known as the French Open. Meanwhile, it is not just Nadal that's enjoying his victory since Maria Sharapova also triumphed. After losing from Serena Williams last year, the Russian athlete this time grabbed the title.

The Madrid Open Tennis 2014 may be the good year for Sharapova as the two-time defending champion in Madrid, Serena Williams, withdrew on Friday after suffering from a leg injury.
