Zac Efron's rehab experience is now being revealed by the actor after his long silence about the issue.
The actor has been very quiet about his trips to rehab, but now he finally opened up about it. In an attempt to battle his struggle against alcohol and drugs, Zac Efron revealed lately that he did seek help to address his problems. The former "High School Musical" star talked about his struggle with alcohol for the last 12 months in his recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Like any other stars who grew up in the Hollywood spotlight, temptations with drugs and alcohol are a struggle for Efron. But unlike others, the young actor preferred his drinking habit to be a huge secret. However, as he tries to keep the topic of his drinking hidden from the camera, the secret is totally weighing him down.
It was after Zac Efron's rehab decision that helped him remove the burden of his secret off his shoulders. According to the actor, he turned to alcohol as he was growing up and as he deals with Hollywood. He also admitted that he was drinking ‘way too much'.
Zac Efron's rehab enrollment started in April 2013 as he finally comes up with a decision of seeking help, but he wanted it to be a secret. It took Zac almost a year to open up about his drinking and drugs since he had to deal with the social stigma. The 26 year-old actor was lately involved in a street fight.
The actor then explained the incident clarifying rumors saying that they had trouble finding some place. According to him, their car ran out of gas and they had to pull over. When they did, a homeless guy tapped on the car's window and be he knew his bodyguard was outside and they were eventually fighting.
Zac also said that he got involved with the fight as he helped his bodyguard disarm the man who actually had a knife. Furthermore, Zac Efron'ss rehab experience made him feel better this time. The actor is also joining Alcoholics Anonymous.
"I just started going, and I think it's changed my life," Efron said.
