Thailand earthquake this 2014 struck the parts of northern Thailand and Myanmar, damaging roads and temples.
The 6.3-magnitude, according to Thailand's Meteorological Department happened at 6:03 p.m. (7:08 a.m. ET). The U.S. Geological Survey said that the Thailand earthquake this 2014 is centered about 6 miles south of Mae Lao and 17 miles southwest of Chang Rai. The quake's depth is at 4.6 miles which is said to be relatively shallow that is why it is felt more widely.
As of the moment, no casualties were reported while there were damages on the roads and buildings said Anusorn Kaewkangwan, deputy director-general of the Interior Ministry. The Associated Press reported that an airport in Chiang Rai which is near the epicenter of the Thailand earthquake 2014 has ordered the evacuation of people from its terminal wherein designs of the ceiling started to fall. Moreover, the airport's general manager said that there has been no damage to the runway and no flight disruptions.
Among the damages that Thailand earthquake 2014 brought to the people was the destruction of some buildings and even temples. In the Udomwaree temple in Chiang Rai, a monk said that the head of a Buddha statue fell. A residential building in the temple also had minor damages.
