Mayweather Vs. Maidana date - Yes! Floyd Mayweather Jr. is entering the ring once again for another thrilling boxing match. This time, it's going to be him and Argentine pride Marcos Maidana, who will be facing each other in a welterweight unification bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas this Saturday.
According to ChristianToday, the Mayweather Vs. Maidana fight will headline a four bout pay per view event that will officially begin at 9 p.m. ET. In tonight's battle, Mayweather will be putting his World Boxing Council belt on the line in hopes of maintaining the said title while at the same time robbing off Maidana's World Boxing Associaltion belt.
It can be noted that Marcos Maidana actually won the belt in December with a victory over Adrien Broner through a points decision in his favor.
Mayweather and Maidana will be fighting in the 147 pound category. The former comes with his perfect record of 45-0 still in tact. Out of thee records, 45 account to winning and 26 account to by the way of knock out. In contrast, the latter has a record of 35-3, with 31 knock outs out of his 35 wins.
Before the main event in the Mayweather Vs. Maidana fight, a 10-roun bout between super middleweights J'Leon Love and Marco Antonio Periban along with a 10-round junior welterweight match between Broner and Carlos Molina will take place.
Another big fight will also happen as Amir Khan with 27-1 record battle it out with Brooklyn native Luis Collazo with 35-5 record.
Interestingly, The Epoch Times reported that Mayweather already hinted early this week that tonight's match will most likely be his final one, adding that he wants to score a knockout against Marcos Maidana.
"I want to look impressive," Mayweather said. "I want to put on a good show. We don't expect this fight to go the distance."
"I can feel when a guy's gonna punch. I can feel it," Mayweather said. "I don't even have to see it; I can feel it. You know, this is just with experience and being around the sport so long."
On the contrary, Maidana believes that he could be the first one to beat Mayweather because he is not afraid of him. "Other fights they show respect, they show fear. That's one thing I won't show against Mayweather."
