TEANECK HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL MISCHIEF AND BURGLARY[VIDEO+PHOTOS]

Teaneck High School students were arrested on early Thursday after breaking into the school and pulling off pranks.

More than 60 students were arrested by police on Thursday after they pull pranks that damaged school's property. Teaneck High School students prank eventually led to a trashy school building. According to Acting Police Chief Robert Carney, 62 students were arrested and 38 of them were juveniles.

All of the students arrested were charged with criminal mischief and burglary while juvenile students were turned over to their parents. Moreover, according to NorthJersey.com, Carney added that breaking into a school and damaging its properties is not considered a prank at all.

"To go into a school and damage a school, that's not a prank. That's criminal mischief," Chief Carney said.

Reports said that it is still unclear how the arrested students got into the Teaneck High School in the middle of the night. One adult student revealed that she entered the school through an unlock door and that at least 100 students were involved. She also added that students were already planning the prank for a month.

Students urinated in the hallways of the high school, smeared Vaseline on the doors, broke chairs and desks and filled the hallways with balloons. The entire school was in trash but according to Sgt. John Garland, the damage was already cleaned up. The adult students went into Teaneck municipal court on Thursday morning many of them wearing their school's sweatshirts.

Municipal Court Judge James e. young Jr. told the students of Teaneck High School that Bergen County Prosecutor's Office will still decide whether to indict them of the burglary and criminal mischief charges or refer them back where less serious charges are being considered. Furthermore, the students were all released. It is also believed that Teaneck High School superintendent is still considering disciplinary actions for the students involved.
