Milford stabbing incident killed a 16 year-old student after her throat was brutally slit by a classmate.
16 year-old Maren Sanchez from Jonathan Law High School was stabbed to death on Friday morning, the day of the school's junior prom. Around 7:15 in the morning when students were busy and excited talking about the upcoming prom, a scream suddenly steal the scene. During the Milford stabbing on Friday, Sanchez who was a well-known member of the drama club, was found lying on the hall and is already struggling for her life.
The female student was slashed across her throat, face and chest. Paramedics attempted to stop the bleeding after arriving in the area but around 7:45 that morning, Sanchez was pronounced dead at the Bridgeport Hospital. Authorities who are investigating the Milford stabbing incident on Friday are still trying to determine what exactly prompted the killer to commit such brutal crime.
Suspect of the Milford stabbing was identified to be Sanchez's 16 year-old male classmate. The suspect who was already in custody was said to be cooperative and that he will be charged as an adult. Maren's killer was taken into Milford Hospital on Friday for psychological examination.
According to New York Times, Chief Keith Mello of the Milford Police Department said that they haven't made any rulings on the possible motives but they are looking on the story that Maren was possibly killed after declining the invitation of the suspect to be his date for the prom. Students also say that the attack was triggered when the suspect who was said to be Sanchez's ex became jealous when the victim started dating somebody else.
Instead of attending the prom, junior students went to Walnut Beach in Milford for a memorial. Many students knew Maren as a smiling person and with a good heart. The victim who was also an honor student previously posted a photo of her in a gown with a caption saying that she's excited.
Moreover, the Milford stabbing incident suspect is expected to be arraigned on Monday in Juvenile Court in New Haven.
