"Mad Men" actor Vincent Kartheiser opens up about his ladylove, Alexis Bledel! The couple generally likes to keep mum about their relationship but Kartheiser indulged the fans on an interview with Vulture.
Kartheiser plays the character of spitfire advertising executive Peter Campbell while Bledel, 32, made her appearance as Campbell's mentally unstable mistress.
"We were completely professional. We never saw each other out," the 34-year-old actor told Vulture. "We never-it was nothing, it was just work." The two didn't date until season 5 of the award-winning show wrapped up.
The two kept things professional on set but the chemistry off screen was apparent to the cast and crew. "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner says that he gave the actor a little nudge towards the right direction but won't take credit for the two dating. Weiner says, "Honestly, they're a really good match. They're both very down to earth, with a sense of responsibility and strong family ties. And they've been acting since before they can remember, which makes for a very special personality. It's not just that I thought they would look cute together." Several of their costars also rooted for the couple including Jon Hamm. "I did know he liked her from a very early point," he said of the courtship. "I was a supporter of that union."
Bledel and Kartheiser started dating in spring of 2012 and news of their engagement broke in March 2013. Bledel revealed her stunning engagement ring a few days after, at the Los Angeles premiere of her TV movie, "Remembering Sunday."
The two haven't announced a formal wedding date and based from their attitude regarding their relationship, they won't. The pair likes to keep their relationship private and it has been working really well for them.
According to Vulture, Kartheiser lives in Los Angeles but has been staying in Brooklyn with Bledel.
