Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton announced that she is with child. Together with her mom, Hilary Clinton, the two spoke on a No Ceilings event sponsored by the Clinton Foundation and Microsoft. "Marc [Mezvinsky] and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year, and I certainly feel all the better - whether it's a girl or a boy - that she or he will grow up in a world full of so many strong young female leaders, so thank you for inspiring me and thank you for inspiring future generations, including the one that we'll be lucky enough to welcome into our family later this year." Chelsea expressed, "I just hope that I will be as good a mom to my child, and hopefully children, as my mom was to me."
Her mother conveyed eagerness towards the pregnancy and admitted that she is very excited to be a grandmother. Back in October, Chelsea made the announcement that she and her husband Marc Mezvinsky were making 2014 "the year of the baby".
Chelsea's mother, Hilary, related the announcement to the primary focus of the event. She told the audience that it makes the whole No Ceilings project a much more important effort. She expressed that she was excited not only for her family but for future generations who may not have to experience the glass ceilings that she did.
No Ceilings: The Full Participation Project is an effort spearheaded by Hilary to gather groups and organizations to evaluate, examine and share the incredible progress that women and girls all over the world has made in the 20 years since the UN Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing. The project is geared to help women advance and participate fully in the society.
