Orange you glad the show's second season is almost here? The hit comedy by "Weeds" creator Jenji Kohan, will be back to Netflix on June 6.
"Orange Is The New Black" is an adaptation of Piper Kerman's, a Waspy Smith graduate who served fifteen months in prison, memoir. Kerman, in her twenties, was involved in a relationship with an older woman who happened to be an international drug trafficker. The Feds arrested Kerman a decade later, the former already engaged to a man and living a straightened out life.
Taylor Schilling portrays Piper Kerman and gives quite a witty and effective performance. She is joined by Kate Mulgrew, Michelle Hurst, Taryn Manning, Danielle Brooks, Laura Prepon and Jason Biggs. Prepon plays Alex Vause who is rumored to be leaving the show but an update says that Vause will have more air time in the upcoming season. Other things to look forward to include Kerman's relationship with fiancee, Larry who is played by Jason Biggs. Larry and Piper's relationship got strained because of the prison sentence and some infidelity issues. Danielle Brooks' character, Taystee will be a regular on season 2 and Uzo Aduba who plays Crazy Eyes got promoted as well. Along with the new developments, a new character will be introduced this season, Vee. Lorraine Toussaint is the new addition to the crew and portrays the role of Vee, a street-smart drug maven who uses children as runners and sellers and bonds immediately with the other inmates. However, Toussaint describes her character in an ominous tone and some are guessing that she might be a season 2 villain.
Kohan describes the show's second season in a word: MORE. She further reveals "season two is more. It's more, all the things, all the details we wanted to know more about." Although Kerman will still be of focus, the creators promise to shed light on the other characters' back stories.
