The Undertaker Dead? Internet Hoax Claims WWE Wrestler Mark Calaway Died in His Home

The Undertaker is dead. At least that's what the Internet is saying. However WWE Wrestler Mark Calaway didn't die. He's just the victim of an internet death hoax. Calaway is just fine.

A report surfaced this week saying that The Undertaker was found dead in his home. According to Empire Sports, "It has been just under a week since the WWE Hall Of Famer Ultimate Warrior passed away so suddenly. We just received word that another legend will be joining him. Mark "The Undertaker" Calaway was found in his Houston home dead late last night by his wife Michelle McCool. Calaway who suffered a severe concussion early on in his WrestleMania match with Brock Lesnar was taken to a hospital right after and kept over night. After being released Monday Calaway was told by WWE CEO Vince McMahon to go home and rest after receiving a severe concussion early in his WrestleMania 30 match with Brock Lesnar. Calaway wrestled the remainder of the match with that concussion while relying on Brock Lesnar to carry them both and protect The Undertaker inside the ring. After seeming fine for a few days after going home Calaway was found dead in his bedroom by his wife."

Since there are so many details, it may be easy to believe, but the report is fake. Empire Sports is a satire site. The disclaimer on the page reads, "Empire Sports is a satirical and entertainment website. Empire Sports uses invented names in all its stories, except in cases when public figures are being satirized. Any other use of real names is accidental and coincidental."

The site has other fake reports like Michael Vick getting attacked by a pitbull and Tony Romo and Jason Witten having a homosexual relationship. These stories are also false.

The Undertaker is just fine. He did wrestle Brock Lesnar during Wrestlemania XXX, and he did lost, putting an end to a great streak, but he didn't die. The Ultimate Warrior did, however, pass away.

Despite the report being false, some fans who came across it took to Twitter to question and mourn the loss. Some examples of tweets include:

"The Undertaker is dead?!??!?!?!"

"Why is Facebook telling me the undertaker is dead?"

"Damn Undertaker died... wow all tine favorite wrestler... same week as Ultimate Warrior... childhood officially over"
