DESIGNER TOM FORD SECRETLY MARRIES LONGTIME PARTNER AND FORMER VOGUE EDITOR RICHARD BUCKLEY

Some partnerships are meant to last a lifetime. This is true in the case of fashion designer Tom Ford and Richard Buckley.

After 27 years of being in a relationship, Ford revealed in a conversation with Lady Kinvara Balfour at Regent Street Apple store in London that he and Buckley just recently got married in a secret ceremony.

"We are now married, which is nice," the former Gucci designer told Ms. Balfour.

"I know that was just made legal in the UK, which is great. We were married in the States," he added.

Ford and Buckley met in 1986 at a fashion show. During those times, AIDS are among the prevailing issues that hound the gay community. "I lost so many friends in college - I would say more than half of my closest friends. Richard, my partner of 27 years, had also gone through something also quite tough in his life." He said.

Richard suffered from throat cancer during the first years of their relationship. After recovering from cancer, Ford and Buckley moved in Italy.

Tom and Richard are fathers to Alexander Jack Buckley Ford born through a surrogate in September 2012.

The designer, who gained even more popularity after rapper Jay-Z made a song entitled, Tom Ford, professed in several interviews of his undying love and commitment to the former editor of Vogue Hommes International.

In one of his interviews, Ford mentioned that their relationship was love at first sight and that he felt like he knew him all his life. He even mentioned that the moment they started dating, he saw his future with him.

Buckley mentioned in an interview with WWD that he couldn't imagine life without Ford. "There's only one Tom for me," he said.

Ford did not give much detail on their wedding but showed the public his golden wedding ring.

Tom Ford was TIME Magazine's Best Fashion Designer in 2001. Aside from fashion design, he also ventured into movies, having directed the film A Single Man.
