Oscar Pistorius case under trial as the double amputee athlete became the primary suspect for the death of her girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
Paralympian Oscar Pistorius once again returned to the witness box for the trial regarding the murder of his girlfriend Steenkamp. Oscar Pistorius case trial on Tuesday was emotional as the athlete tries to hold back his tears when details of his girlfriend's death are being recalled.
The double-amputee athlete Pistorius testified on Tuesday for his own defense about the murder of his girlfriend wherein he was the suspect. He broke down on the witness stand as he recalled the moment that he realized he was the one who shot her girlfriend in his own home way back on February of last year.
The supposed happy Valentine's Day for lovers, Pistorius and Steenkamp turned out to be tragic as the athlete fatally wounded her girlfriend which resulted to her death. As Oscar Pistorius case went on, he couldn't help holding back his emotions as he told everyone in the room sobbing what exactly happened that night of February. He also apologized to Steenkamp's family about what happened.
"There hasn't been a moment since this tragedy happened that I haven't thought about your family" Pistorius addressed.
The Paralympic gold medalist is being accused of murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on February 14, 2013 by shooting her in the head, arm and hip through the toilet door. Pistorius claimed that he shot Reeva by mistake thinking that she's an intruder behind the bathroom door. However, prosecutors stated that he shot his girlfriend intentionally and the killing was precipitated by their fight just hours before the murder happened.
In addition to Oscar Pistorius case testimony; he mentioned that he is under medication that helps him with his depression. He also suffered from nightmares after he killed Steenkamp which caused him to wake up in a smell of blood. He also talked about Reeva being loved and that they see future with each other.
"I can promise that when she went to bed that night she felt loved" Pistorius on loving Reeva.
"We started really seeing a future with each other," he also said.
Oscar Pistorius case trial is scheduled to run until mid-May.
