Pharrell Williams' hat is seemingly making a comeback as the newly turned 41-year-old is seen wearing the quaint but stylish headwear in his public appearances. Pharrell Williams' hat made its first ever appearance at the GRAMMYs last January, and now the famous headgear is almost as famous as Pharrell Williams himself.
Though sporting a different color, this time around a "happy" green color, Pharrell Williams' hat is catching the attention of many. On April 4, 2014 in New York City, Williams wore the headwear at his SpongeBob-themed 41st birthday party at Bikini Bottom at Cipriani, Wall Street.
With his hat in tow, the singer and producer indeed produced something for 'Saturday Night Live', a "happy" production number so to speak. He graced the stage of 'SNL' this week with his trusty hat.
Pharrell Williams' hat may have had a lot of exposure on the official music video of his song "Happy", but it took more than the appearance of this headgear to make the song one of music's biggest sleeper hits with its six-week reign atop the Hot 100. Pharrell Williams' sheer talent of course had a lot to do with the song's success, and the singer stuck to the feel good song for his first performance on the 'SNL' stage'.
Pharrell Williams' hat once again adds to the cool vibe that Williams exudes and brings a new joy with a new color on the stage of 'SNL'. Choosing the song for his first performance was certainly a smart move for Pharrell. The song infected the audience as Williams performed along with a backup crew of a dozen or so young dancers.
Williams happily swayed together with the dancers and backing band, while singing the song live. As the other dancers jumped to the beat of the song with a choreographed routine complete with claps and stomps, two dancers showed off killer moves ahead of the others. Pharrell Williams' hat wasn't getting unnoticed as it stuck on Williams' head throughout the whole performance.
Pharrell Williams' hat not only appeared during Pharrell's song performances and birthday parties, but on his SNL sketches as well. Williams guest starred in the final sketch of the evening, playing himself looking for a backup singer for his live performances. On the sides were Kenan Thompson and Taran Killam, both of whom eventually ended up with their own giant hats as well.
