YELLOW SAC SPIDERS BLAMED FOR THE RECALL OF MAZDA CARS IN THE UNITED STATES

Yellow sac spiders caused recall of the Mazda cars in U.S. as the said spiders can potentially damage fuel tanks.

Another car recall is now being made after yellow sac spiders were discovered in the cars' fuel tank. Reports spread that Mazda cars are being attacked by the spider specie thus resulting to the recall of nearly 42, 000 cars in the United States. The specific kind of spider is said to potentially ruin the fuel tank.

According to the NBC news report, Mazda is recalling almost 42,000 Mazda6 cars in the U.S. due to Yellow sac spiders' invasion. The spiders can potentially damage the car by weaving a web in a vent hose of the car which could cause the fuel tank to crack. It has invaded Mazda cars since it is primarily attracted to the smell of gas emitted by the Mazda.

The recall made involves cars from the 2010 to 2012 model which is equipped with 2.5 liter engines. In 2011, a recall of Mazda cars was also done due to the same problem. A solution was considered by putting covers on the vent line but spiders can still pass through it.

Yellow sac spiders are said to be nocturnal hunters. It varies from a usual pale color ranging from a yellow to beige. Some entomologists said that the spiders might have sneaked into the hoses in the warehouse before it was made ready for shipment. These spiders actually hide in the tubes during the day and come out during the night.

After a recall was made with an attempt to address and prevent yellow sac spider invasion to the cars, Mazda will also update the software to make sure that the fuel tank does not build up. The recall is a very essential step since the web that is produced by the spiders can really damage fuel tanks by causing fuel leaks and fire.
