DAVID LETTERMAN RETIRING SOON IN 2015: SHOCKING SUDDEN REVELATION OF THE LATE NIGHT SHOW HOST MADE, IS IT RELATED TO HEALTH OR HE JUST REALLY WANTS TO BE WITH FAMILY?

David Letterman retiring soon confirmed as the veteran show host made a statement on his show on Thursday.

Thursday's episode of Late Show has brought a shocking revelation from David Letterman. After being a late night show host for almost 33 years, he made a statement that he will be going to retire this 2015 just as his contract will end. Just before the program started, the host called Leslie Moonves, the CBS president regarding his plan.

"And I said 'Leslie, it's been great, you've been great, and the network has been great, but I'm retiring.'" Letterman said.

The statement that Letterman said himself was at first thought to be only a joke but it appeared to be sincere and official. The thought of David Letterman retiring soon is quite saddening especially to his fans and of the show. However, the exact date for his retirement plans is not yet confirmed.

As confirmation of David Letterman retiring soon was revealed, the late night show host also explained that "Moonves, he and I have had a relationship for years and years and years, and we have had this conversation in the past, and we agreed that we would work together on this circumstance and the timing of this circumstance."

Before it was announced that late night show host, David Letterman retiring soon, he served the business for almost 33 years. By the time he retires, Letterman will have hosted "Late Show with David Letterman" of CBS for 22 years. He also hosted NBC's "Late Night" for 11 years.

He also thanked everybody for the support that was given to him.

"I just want to reiterate my thanks for the support from the network, all of the people who have worked here, all of the people in the theater, all the people on the staff, everybody at home, thank you very much," Letterman said

In response to David Letterman retiring soon, Moonves stated that "For 21 years, David Letterman has graced our Network's air in late night with wit, gravitas and brilliance unique in the history of our medium."
