Fort Hood shooting timeline still being investigated as the details of the shooting incident wherein four men were confirm killed are being put together.
The shooting incident that occurred in Fort Hood military base in Texas on April 2 has wounded and injured 16 individuals while four men were confirmed dead including the shooter. According to Lt.-Gen. Mark A. Milley during a press conference on Wednesday, the Fort Hood shooting timeline is still being put together since the sequence of events is not that detailed. A 2009 shooting incident wherein nearly a dozen individuals were killed also occurred in the same military base.
As the Fort Hood shooting timeline is being investigated, reports have said that the first gunshot was heard at about 4:04 in the afternoon. According to the cbs news, the shooter opened fire in two buildings. The said buildings house the daily administration of medical brigades while the other one is for the daily administration of the transportation battalion.
The entire military base was placed under lockdown while the Fort Hood shooting timeline is under investigation but the lockdown was also lifted hours after. Officials also advised people to take shelter in place and that they must stay away from doors and windows. Identity of the shooter was revealed to be one of the soldiers from the base, Ivan Lopez, 34. After opening fire in two buildings, the shooter was killed from a self- inflicted gunshot wound.
Background of the shooter is being investigated including his psychiatric history together with the exact Fort Hood shooting timeline. The soldier according to Milley served in Iraq and was not wounded during his combat. Lopez was on the process of having a psychiatric treatment for anxiety and depression. Motive of the shooting is not yet confirmed as the investigation is still ongoing.
