April Fool's Day doesn't have to be full of tricks and JetBlue has a very real offer for those who were born on April 1. The airline if offering credit to those born on April 1st who are flying JetBlue on their birthday.
The chances of someone with a birthday on April 1st flying on April 1st may not be large, but for those who do happen to match that criteria are getting a special offer. Even though it's April Fool's Day, JetBlue doesn't fool around when it comes to birthdays. The airline is offering a JetBlue credit equal to the amount of the fare that someone paid today if their birthday is April 1st, the JetBlue blog says.
"Everyone's birthday should feel like a personal holiday, even if it's on an actual holiday. So on a day like April Fool's, a birthday is still nothing to joke about," said Roger Johnson, JetBlue Director of Market Planning, "That's why we're making sure that our birthday travelers today get a present, not pranked."
The credit for the birthday travelers' April 1, 2014 flight on JetBlue will be desposited into a JetBlue Travel Bank for all qualifying customers. The JetBlue travel credits can be used towards any JetBlue flight within one year. So if someone has a birthday on April 1 and they're flying JetBlue on April 1, 2014, and they booked their flight on or before March 31, 2014, they can follow a series of steps to get the JetBlue credit.
Those who qualify must email aprilnofools@jetblue.com by April 8, 2014 with their name, the JetBlue confirmation number of their April 1 flight and their TrueBlue account number to request the JetBlue Travel Bank credit. Those who don't have a TrueBlue number currently can simply sign up for a free account at https://jetblue.com/trueblue.
After a customer submits the information, they will be contacted within two weeks and will learn if they have received the credit.
