David Archuleta's mission thus ending, the former American Idol season seven runner-up announced his homecoming in a YouTube video.
In the recorded video, Archuleta greeted his fans saying, "I'm home," whilst all smiles and wearing a traditional missionary suit jacket getup, white dress shirt and tie. He uploaded it to YouTube as soon as he got home to Utah. The video has been viewed over 60,000 times since its upload Monday.
David Archuleta's mission at the Missionary Training Center allowed him to perform in a Mormon choir for its general conference. While there, he also did two special Christmas performances. David Archuleta's mission performances were held on the Santiago Chile Temple grounds. However busy he was performing during the mission, he had little to no contact with his family and the outside world.
Before David Archuleta's mission, he rose to fame on "American Idol" season 7 after making it to the final round and named runner-up. In the past two years, he took some time out to do work for his church.
David Archuleta's mission here was held in private and the singer didn't let anyone know where he was, however, especially as his fans might follow him there and disrupt his work.
