Fresh air, good eats, and your favorite alternative groups in a three-city concert for all ages.
Starting in Chile 2011, Lollapalooza SA has been the most anticipated alternative events for performers across the globe. Big names like Foo Fighters, local artists and international groups, new names like Lorde, all try for spots to showcase what they can bring to the music scene's table.
This year, the host cities are in Chile (March 29th & 30th), Argentina (April 1st & 2nd), and Brazil (April 5th & 6th). The line-up includes: Nine Inch Nails; Ellie Goulding; Cage the Elephant; Red Hot Chili Peppers; Imagine Dragons; AFI; Zedd; Fat Pablo; Arcade Fire; Vampire Weekend; Soundgarden; Kid Kudi; Muse; and many others - most of that is just Chile.
The stages are O'Higgins Park in Santiago, the San Isidro Hippodrome in Buenos Aires, and the Interlagos Race Track in Sao Paulo. Prices range between $70 and $3,500 depending on which city you go to, how many days you'll be attending, when you buy your ticket(s), and what type of amenities (if any), you want with your pass. Parking passes are sold as well for those who drive there.
Just as in Chicago, South America's Lollapalooza will include local vendors. All of your preferred dishes and snacks will be there waiting for you to order them. Get ready to fill up on as much Pan de Pascua, Chipa, and Salgado as you can handle - don't forget some Borgona and Terere as thirst quenchers.
Whatever else you do this Spring, remember to save the dates for Lollapalooza in South America - you'll regret missing it later for sure.
