No matter what your start and finish destinations are, these items are a must when crossing borders.
Extra clothes and spending cash are no-brainers, but what about those other needs many may forget? The accessories about to be mentioned are a few traveling necessities.
Bring an outlet adapter with you overseas. Every country uses its own electricity, so you'll need to prepare for different prong outlets and wattage changes. Outlet converters are typically inexpensive and usually come in compact multi-packs. You can order them offline if you want, but most local stores carry sets. Many come with usb ports so you may charge your smart-tronics if need be too.
If you're going somewhere mountainous, high-altitude medication is a good idea. People can get sick changing from an elevation their bodies are used to, so some doctors recommend medicine for that. They increase your blood's pH level, making it a bit acidic, so it can deal better with lower air pressures. Since strength differs by medication, be sure to know which is best for your body where you plan to go.
Language quick-phrase books, or conversational books, are very helpful learning tools. Most people will use language apps on their phones, but those aren't always accurate. Also, if you want to review something from earlier that day back in your room, with the book on hand (and a pen/pencil) you can make a quick note of it to look at afterwards - not many, if any apps allow you to queue a whole conversation.
While you're buying tickets, smiling for passport photos, and scheduling shots, remember to grab these few travel accessories on your way out of the country. You're better having them ahead of time, than forgetting and needing them later. Here's to a well-prepped for trip!
