Meryl Streep new movie "The Giver" is scheduled to hit the big screens this August 2014.
The upcoming science fiction movie which is going to be released this year stars the Award winning actors Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep alongside Brenton Thwaites, Alexander Skarsgard and Katie Holmes. The country singer Taylor Swift will also appear in Meryl Streep new movie though she wasn't featured in the trailer.
"The Giver" was actually based on the 1993 novel written by Lois Lowry which bears the same title. The film directed by Phillip Noyce started filming on October 7, 2013 in Cape Town, South Africa. Meryl Streep new movie will make her the villain of the story wherein she will be playing her role as the Chief Elder.
Streep, who appeared in many different movies, has been nominated many times in different award- giving bodies. Some of her awards include an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and an Emmy award. In 2010, she was awarded with National Medal of Arts by President Barack Obama.

Another Meryl Streep new movie that will also hit the big screen this year is the" Into the Woods" which is also based on the novel with the same title. The said movie will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios which is set to be released on December of 2014. The award winning actress will play her role as The Witch for this upcoming musical fantasy film.
Streep, 64, is still very active in producing films and still portrays her role in an outstanding performance. The actress who also starred in August: Osage County of 2013 alongside Julia Roberts holds the record of the most nominated female actor in the film history.
