Kevin Trudeau Sentencing: Headed to 10 Years in Federal Prison For Violating 2004 Federal Court Order Prohibiting Misleading Infomercials And Misrepresenting Weight-Loss Books

Kevin Trudeau sentencing to 10 Years in prison has been decided on criminal contempt. The Kevin Trudeau sentencing started when the television pitchman and author started collecting tons of money for his different gigs. These included fortune telling consumers his secrets on how to get free money, spreading his word on how to lose weight, and how to cure different types of illnesses with natural remedies.

The 51-year-old is now headed for federal prison and his sentence is a long 10 years. The Kevin Trudeau sentencing happened on Monday as Trudeau happened to violate a 2004 federal court order which prohibited him from making misleading infomercials and misrepresenting his weight-loss books.

According to the U.S. attorney's office in Chicago, the Monday Kevin Trudeau sentencing hearing was also reported to have occurred with harsh words from U.S. District Judge Ronald Guzman.

Monday's Kevin Trudeau sentencing hearing heard Guzman say, "Since the age of 25, (Trudeau) has attempted to cheat others for his own personal gain."

Prosecutors also allegendly called Kevin Trudeau an "unrepentant, untiring, and uncontrollable huckster who has defrauded the unsuspecting for 30 years" in their sentencing memo.

A criminal contempt conviction for Trudeau was decided by a jury in November 2013. Since then, the 51-year-old cheat has been in the custody of federal authorities. During the trial, evidence to finalize Kevin Trudeau's sentencing included him appearing in three infomercials in 2006 and 2007, during which he purposely distorted the contents of one of his weight-loss books to fool the public.

The U.S. attorney handling the evidence said that the infomercials were not true. They were also in violation of a 2004 court order given to Trudeau which supposedly banned the production of the infomercials.

Also Kevin Trudeau's book covers stated that, a number of his books have gained status as number one on the New York Times bestseller list, when they were not.

Kevin Trudeau's sentencing has prompted Trudeau to file a notice of appeal on the case. This information was shared by his defense attorney Tom Kirsch in an interview with CNN Monday night.
