Are the rumours true? Are Harry Potter stars Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe engaged in a new film adaptation for The Little Mermaid?
Just this week, news broke out over the web regarding the two previous Harry Potter stars getting together again for a new film. Fans have been abuzz over rumours of co-stars Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe joining forces once again for the acclaimed Hans Christian Andersen tale of The Little Mermaid.
The question on everybody's mind is, "are the rumours true?"
This might come as a disappointment to "Potterheads", but reports running on the rumour mill are false. Two facts ring true despite all the rumours. First, the two co-stars Emma (playing Harry's best friend Hermione in the famous movie franchise) and Daniel (playing Harry himself), will not be starring in the supposed adaptation of The Little Mermaid. Second, there will not be a film.
Despite it being a little too early for April fools, the "report" of the film adaptation by the two renowned former Harry Potter casts was simply a repeat of MuggleNet's previous April Fool's Day joke.
Lines from the supposed report, now considered a joke, read as follows:
"A few hours ago it was confirmed that Emma Watson was chosen to play the role of Ariel in The Little Mermaid. But that's not all! Prince Eric will be played by Daniel Radcliffe! This new production of Disney's animated classic is planned for release in 2015 and will be a live action telling filmed digitally in 3D," reports Buzznet.com.
If there is a Disney adaptation that will star Emma Watson, it would be Guillermo Del Toro's take on "Beauty & the Beast" which is scheduled for production this year."

Of course, despite this disappointing revelation of the rumours being untrue with The Little Mermaid adaptation, fans are still patiently waiting for any film that would reunite the previous Harry Potter stars Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint. The chemistry of the three are apparent on screen, and fans are just that faithful to the trio even after the blockbuster series ended.
Next time news unravels, it's best to research and not fall for any folly.
In the meantime, fans would have to suffice with Emma Watson's upcoming film "Noah", which is due March, and Rupert Grint's 2013 film, "Charlie Countryman".
