Real-life princess and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is now a royal godmother.
Last week Sunday, the 32-year-old attended the christening of her newest godchild. She went to the christening together with her son Prince George.
The mum of Kate's new godchild is reportedly a close friend of Kate's during college. The christening was held at St. Barnabas Church in Essex.
In an interview with the U.K.'s Mirror, Reverend Ken Dunstan shared that the Duchess of Cambridge "was there as a godparent" and "not as a princess."
The reverend added, "I think my usual congregation were surprised at who was joining us." Before the event, he already noted that the child had four godparents, and unbeknownst to the congregation, the Duchess of Cambridge joined them. Rev. Dunstan said, "My main concern was that I got the tone right for the family and for the baptism."
The reverend said that Duchess Kate and Prince William's seven-month-old son was one of the "several babies present" during the christening, and all the babies, fortunately, "were very well-behaved."
Flashback to little Prince George's own baptism last October, he was also very well-behaved. The seven-month-old prince's baptism was held at the Chapel Royal at St James' Palace.
His father William even joked about it saying, "It's the first time he's been quiet all day." The little one apparently didn't even make a fuss while wearing the wardrobe of his baptism, which is the now-172-year-old Honiton lace royal christening robe worn by his father before him.
Prince George has seven godparents, some of which include Zara Phillips; Oliver Baker Will and Kate's friend from the University of St. Andrews; Emilia Jardine-Paterson, a friend of Kate's from Malrborough College; and William van Cutsem, William's friend since childhood.
The Most Reverend Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury reminded Will and Kate during little George's christening that their heavenly task was to ensure their son's recognition of Jesus.
