Planning on traveling for the Presidents' Day holiday? Depending on where you go, hotels could cost a lot. According to CheapHotels.org, the most expensive destination in the United States to spend this upcoming Presidents' Day weekend is Kihei, Maui.
Kihei, which sits along Maui's southwest shore, took the top spot as it has an overnight rate of $416 for the most affordable double room during the holiday weekend. However locations on the other side of the spectrum also took top spots. The second most expensive location is Vail, Colorado at $402 per night. The third most expensive is a hot spot, Key West, Florida at $399 per night.
The Presidents' Day holiday weekend is considered to be from February 14-17. The survey by CheapHotels.com only took hotels with at least a 2-star rating and a positive customer evaluation were considered. The rates were established on February 6-7, 2014 based on research conducted on the hotel comparison website Kayak.
