Selfie Fanatics Best Photo Editing Apps on Android

Since selfie have taken the world by storm, multiple social media sites provided an opportunity for these photos to be shared publicly in a fraction of a second. I myself have inevitably succumbed to the growing population fond of taking self-portraits. Although a lot of scholars are puzzled on the psychological effects of the phenomenon especially the consciousness of the younger generation, it won't stop me or my plethora of friends from twerking, pouting and sharing our heart signs in our digital photos. Blame the smartphone's brilliant high resolution images or Facebook and Instagram's photo sharing technology, but our best interest lies on how we make our selfie pose even look better.

I've made a list of the best photo editing apps rated based on my personal experiences, recommendations of other selfie fanatics, user interface and editing options available per software downloaded. The aim is to give the users some insight of the latest powerful tools while creating their own visual autobiography.

Camera 360

The magic skin, lomo and retro are indeed the top selling points of this app. Armed with multiple camera options and improved image processing engine that can combine layers of effects in a single shot, earns this app one of the top on my list. Currently, the app has been downloaded over 50,000,000 times and has received an average of 4.4 % rating score amongst 835,000 users. The application's real time effect makes it more exciting as you see your own photo transform to your desired output. I've appreciated Camera 360 Cloud when I got my phone checked for a system reformat. As I thought I've lost my photos saved on my phone's gallery, lo and behold after my reinstallation of the program I've recovered the pictures in less than a second.

Pixlr Express

I've first used Pixlr Express not via my android phone but rather by stumbling on their website. Technically, I could compare it to adobe photo shop but just handy enough to fit into your mobile device. The heal brush is my favorite whenever I'd have to remove unwanted spots, dark eye circle and blemish to create an almost perfect picture. Their festive theme that constantly changes the mood per season plus its sophisticated photo effects is a winning combo for a user that wants to make pro-like images without the complexities of the editing software. There is no doubt that this app deserves the score of 4.5 % from its users.

Photo Editor by BeFunky

The app is funky enough to have beautify and rich with a library of effects that can be undone and redone effortlessly. It is my partner in creating dramatic effects and in transforming a photo to static art. Its user inter-face is also very easy to navigate and can drive a single photo into multiple creative possibilities. Constant additions to its effect gallery by the app developer make it competitive in the google play market.

Photo Editor by Aviary

As a selfie addict, I've always appreciated a photo app's option for digital retouch. Blemish brush and whiten are one of my basic needs in photo editing. Aviary also features Hi-Def options for photo enhancement and the interesting smart color that I intend to spend more time learning in the future. Also featuring a simple interface that can be mastered by any one in a few minutes, it a great app to start and use for newbies exploring the selfie nation.

PicsArt

Its outstanding 4.6 rating in the android market only affirms the app as one of the most powerful tools available. Combines multiple options for both amateur and pro users to create distinct results, it is also equipped with a collage maker that completes their entire photo editing experience. Personally, I believe that PicsArt is equivalent to 3 photo editing apps compressed into one program. Artists' can also share their photos publicly with their fellow photo enthusiast via the photo stream options seen on the side tab.

I'm sure there are other contending apps on the market that attracted users due to its own unique interface. Some of these innovations might be up to dominate the android play store and hit the trending sections of social media portals. For now, the list is my best recommendation to users who are in dire need of transforming their average photo to extraordinaire.
