'Biggest Loser' Winner Rachel Frederickson: Alarms America with Drastic Weight Loss

NBC's weight loss reality show "The Biggest Loser" has garnered numerous fans since it debuted on October 19, 2004. More than tips, tricks and lessons on how to lose and manage weight, it has served an inspiration for many who have been trying to lose weight and be more healthy.

However, with the change of the current season's winner Rachel Frederickson, viewers have been on an outrage. The 24-year-old winner lost 60 percent of her original body weight from when she started the show, this in order to win the 250 thousand dollar grand prize.

Hailing from Los Angeles, Rachel Frederickson was a former competitive swimmer and current voice-over artist. She started the season weighing 260 pounds and after the show at Tuesday's finale, weighed in at 105 pounds.

"Biggest Loser" Trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels' shocked reactions have been going viral on the internet ever since Frederickson's finale reveal. They were clapping as the 24-year-old emerged from backstage, but were also seen mouthing "Oh my God" at the same time. But Harper and Michaels were not the only people who have mouthed "Oh My God" over the change.

According to the body mass index chart, Frederickson is underweight at 105 pounds since her height is reportedly 5'4" or 5'5". She lost 155 pounds in just over five months. This means she has been losing one pound per day.

"The Biggest Loser" has faced backlash since the first season for its weight loss methods. Some contestants have been pushed to competing even to the point of hospitalization and to taking caffeine supplements.

First Season winner Ryan C. Benson has told The New York Times in 2009 that he even urinated blood because of the extreme dehydration tactics he used to drop 122 pounds for the finale.

In 2010, Third Season finalist Kai Hibbard said in an interview that that trying to lose weight for the finale left her so weak and defeated that her family staged an intervention to deal with the new eating disorder she said she had developed.

Here's a recap of what happened during the reveal.
