Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date, Features & Specs: Galaxy S5 May Be Launched on February 24

The rumors are soaring high that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will soon be launched at the Mobile World Congress in Spain this coming February 24. It was on Monday when the Korean tech giant made the announcement that it will be during the Barcelona MWC event that their next flagship phone will be unveiled. And just like the majority's speculations, the event called "Unpacked 5" will reveal the much awaited Galaxy S5.

CNET compared the previous timeframes set by the company for the introduction of their product lineup. It usually happens in the latter part of February, usually during the MWC event. IBTimes also shared in their recent article that the news was shared by Samsung on their blog, giving a hint of the big reveal through several clues.

The article mentioned that the name of the event having the number 5 is a big clue that it will most likely be about the Samsung Galaxy S5. It can be remembered last year that the pre-release event of the Galaxy S4 had a tag line which stated "Be Ready 4." For other interesting clues, you can check out the complete list here.

The event could also be deemed as Samsung's strategy to encourage those customers who are thinking otherwise that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be launched on the same event, GottabeMobile added. The next flagship phone is rumored to be available in two new models, in the premium and budget type of model. The speculated features of the premium version include the 5.2 inch QHD display, 16Mp camera and the metal material. The budget version on the other hand has 1080p display, a 16Mp camera but with a plastic design style.

Latest news updates state that the "Unpacked 5" event will be available for live stream on February 24 by 8 p.m. CET or 2 p.m. EST. It will be also featured live via the official blog.
