The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is becoming even more magical. The new segment, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley is coming to Universal Orlando.
The new park, which opens this summer, will bring Harry Potter to life with attractions, shops and restaurants. Jump on the Hogwarts Express in Hogsmeade and arrive at Ling's Cross Station, where the wonder of London and Diagon Alley unfold before your eyes.
Universal Orlando and Warner Bros. unveiled the first details about the new area. The near area will double the size of the current Harry Potter attraction and will expand across both of Universal's theme parks, with a real Hogwarts Express transporting guests between them.
Universal Orlando first opened The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade at its Islands of Adventure theme park in 2010. This area includes Hogwarts castle which holds the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey attraction, and the village of Hogsmeade. The new Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley will be located in Universal Orlando's other theme park, Universal studios and will give guests the experience of being in areas like London, Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley.
Universal worked with the production team of the Harry Potter films to make this near area as real as possible. On this adventure, guests will take the Hogwarts Express to King's Cross Station and will then pass through London and the iconic brick wall archway from the films into Diagon Alley - a bustling, wizarding hub within a Muggle city. Guests can enjoy shops, dining experiences, and a new ride called Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts - a multi-sensory, multi-dimensional journey that will take theme park attractions to a new level.
Guests can have the experience of choosing their own wand at Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 BC. They can visit Borgin and Burkes, the Dark Arts shop that contains Death Eater masks, skulls and other dark items in Knockturn Alley. Stop at Weasley's Wizard Wheezes to check out novelty items, magical jokes, and toys inspired by the books and films. Need some Wizardwear? Check out Madam Malkin;s Robes for All Occasions to buy Hogwarts uniform ties, scaves, jumpers, robes and costumes. The Magical Menagerie features stuffed animals like owl and Hippogriffs. If you need wizarding essentials like telescopes, binoculars, armillary spheres, compasses, magnifying glasses and hourglasses, check out Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment.
A visit wouldn't be complete without picking up some Quality Quidditch Supplies such as apparel and equipment including Quidditch sweaters, brooms, Golden Snitches, Bludgers, Bludger bats, Quaffles and more. A good student needs school supplies of course, so Scribbulus offers authentic writing implements and products such as feather quills, ink and inkwells, bookmarks, journals, parchment paper, seals, stationery sets and postcards.
Hungry? Be sure to head to the Leaky Cauldron for traditional British fare like fish and chips, bangers and mash and more. If you want a sweet treat, go to Florean Fortescue's Ice-Cream Parlour for frozen treats in a variety of tantalizing and unique flavors such as strawberry-and-peanut-butter ice-cream and more.
