Ice Cream Anyone? Yuengling Brewery Back In the Ice Cream Business

Nothing can compare to a cold beer on a hot summer night. Well, maybe something can. Yuengling's Brewery, the oldest brewery company in the country seems to think so. The Pennsylvania brewing company is reviving Yuengling's Ice Cream after closing its doors almost 30 years ago.

Surprisingly, this is not a far reach from the company's original roots. The company started distributing ice cream back in 1929. Frank Yuengling, Yuengling's Ice Cream founder needed to find a way to support his family during prohibition when his business began to fail. Yuengling decided to go into the diary business and thus Yuengling's Ice Cream was founded and the company went strong for over 65 years.

Yuengling's Ice Cream will be competing with other companies who actually take the step to create beer flavored ice cream. Companies such as Frozen Pints an Atlanta based company has become well known for its craft beer ice cream and Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream a company based in Columbus, Ohio is quickly gaining attention for its unique flavors.

With so many companies expanding on the beer flavored ice cream idea it will be interesting to see how Yuengling's Ice Cream will find their footing. David Yuengling, the President of Yuengling' Ice Cream is hoping that people will give it a chance and that the taste alone will keep them coming back for more of the one of a kind ice cream.

"We hope you will try our ice cream. We believe it is one of the best products you can buy anywhere."

Yuengling won't create any beer flavored selections (how awesome would that be), but they will stick to classic flavors such as vanilla and chocolate. The company also has interesting and equally unique flavors such as the Root Beer float and Vanilla Fudge Chunk with Pretzels that will surely entice many customers.

If you're dying to get your hands on Yuengling's Ice Cream they'll be returning to store shelves in February. The company also donates 3% of their profits to charities so you won't feel guilty about indulging your sweet tooth!
