The sub-Arctic temperatures that have decended on most of the continential U.S. have left very few regions of the country unscathed.
Even in warm climates, folks are dealing with the wrath of old-man winter. In Florida, oranges are frozen solid and in Texas, snow storms are no longer infrequent.
In fact, the temperatures have gotten so cold that even Hollywood is getting in on the trend.

How cold? According to the reporters at the local TV news stations, the "arctic" air in Los Angeles might have brought about the unthinkable.
Yes, "it might have snowed if the temperatures would have dropped a litte more," according to an LA reporter.
While the rest of the country has dealt with sub-zero temps, snow, ice and general uncomfortableness because of the so-called polar vortex, sunny California is right there with us. In fact, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel put together a "chilling" reaction to the cold weather that has engulfed Southern California.

From listening to Kimmel's report and catching a glimpse of the reporters bundled up in the rarely-used winter gear, one has to suspect that the air conditioning units being shut down has created a power surge for the utility companies.
So with high temperatures barely reaching 60 degrees in Los Angeles, the ravage of the cold-air mass cannot relent soon enough.
