While people might think that the Taliban forces have come up with just about anything to perpetually carry out terrorist attacks, they have a newest weapon that's making headlines.
According to CNN, new and very disturbing reports are emerging that the terrorist group are using young girls as suicide bombers. Reportedly, the Taliban make their way into deceiving the children before putting the vest on them and directing the unknowing youth to the target.
In the report, a 10-year old girl named Spozhmai says that she was preempted to ignite a police attack in one of Khanshin's police stations in Afghanistan. While the notorious terrorist group has been known to use a number of female operatives to carry out terrorist attacks, it is the first report that surfaced of the group using children.
Families among the Taliban are no strangers to fighting for their cause. Over the years, CNN researchers Mia Bloom and Josh Horgan reported that multiple Islamic groups have seen siblings and cousins commit terrorist acts together. The Taliban specifically carried out recruitments by pairing siblings.
Back in 2007, there was also a report that the Taliban failed to trick a boy into becoming a suicide bomber. While they have initially told 6-year old Juma Gul that flowers will come out when he presses the button, the boy hesitated as he approached the target and called out for help. National Army soldiers nearby were able to disarm the bomb and Juma was later sent to Sabaoon, a rehabilitation facility for child militants.
As noted in the report made by CNN, it looks like Taliban is taking after the Iraqi terrorists' strategy of using children for attacks. At times, the Iraqi terrorists were able to use children to disguise vehicles with bombs inside or detonating bomb strapped into children by remote control.
This week's report of the 10-year old girl attempting to bomb the police station did not make use of any remote. Her mission to bomb the station was a failure.
