It was almost a tragedy caught on camera, but the brave move of the pilot to battle against the strong crosswinds while landing almost sideways in Bristol proved to be perfectly safe.
According to Yahoo! News, Air France and Ryanair planes have to battle against strong storm and rain elements to ensure safe landings at Bristol Airport. However, because the winds are roughly up to 75mph, difficult landings have to be made.
In one of the official footages of how difficult these landings are, one can see an Air France plane heading towards the runway at an almost sideways orientation prior to finally correcting the approach just in time for the official landing.
Multiple reports across the country revealed that other flights across Britain also braved the raging storm using the same tactic.
As of late, the Environment Agency has issued 70 flood alerts, with five serious flood warnings in the South-West.
National reports stated that the very windy weather is to last until the end of the week. Nonetheless, the severity of the condition has been downgraded overnight.
